Orgone is the name given by the Scientist Dr. Wilhelm Reich,  for the Universal life force energy he discovered. From his research and experiments in psychology, biology to physics, he discovered this energy was the underlying principle in all living organisms, earth and the atmosphere. It is thought to be the same as Chi, or Prana energy. Dr. Reich wrote many books explaining the nature and properties of this energy and it's function in all living and non-living matter.

Dr. Reich developed groundbreaking therapies and devices used to help people and the environment achieve a healthy state, one being the Orgone Accumulator, (ORAC) for short. His experiments showed that organic materials attracted and held orgone, while inorganic material attracted but quickly repelled it. Based on this discovery he built a box constructed of alternating layers of organic material and metal, designed to collect and concentrate this life energy. He built one large enough for a person to sit inside, and found that it was a treatment for many ailments.

He discovered there was different types or forms of orgone energy. He named the harmful type, (DOR) deadly orgone radiation, with the beneficial type called (OR) orgone radiation or (POR) for positive orgone radiation.To further study the orgone in the atmosphere, Dr. Reich invented the Cloud  Buster. This device could effect the weather patterns by altering the atmospheric orgone. In repeated experiments he showed how it could dissipate and create clouds, and demonstrated in drought ridden areas its ability to create rain.

In 1954 the FDA banned the interstate shipments of his ORACs, even though they were claiming that orgone energy didn't exist. This resulted in a ensuing court battle with eventually Dr.Reich being sentenced to two years in jail. They ordered all his papers and books to be burned. He was sentenced to two years in jail, where he died a week before his release of an apparent heart attack, on November 3, 1957.
